SaneBox vs Leave Me Alone: sorting mail by importance, or unsubscribing at the source
By Jean Luc Poitier, SEO and growth marketing strategist · SaneBox Reviews · Updated October 1, 2026 · Leave Me Alone facts from its own pricing, FAQ, privacy, and Terms pages
Both connect to your mailbox on the server and work with almost any provider, so you keep the email app you use now. Leave Me Alone goes after subscriptions: it unsubscribes you from mailing lists, bundles the ones you keep into digests, and holds or blocks new senders and spam. SaneBox sorts every incoming email by how you treat the sender, so mail from people and services that matter stays in the inbox and the rest waits in folders.
Leave Me Alone costs less: $9 a month covers 4 accounts, and a $19 one-off pass covers a week of cleanup with no subscription. Pick it if newsletters and cold pitches are the problem. Pick SaneBox if the hard part is finding the few messages that need you each day, or you want follow-up tracking, snooze folders, an iPhone app, and a 30-day refund window.

What SaneBox and Leave Me Alone do with your mail
The two overlap in several ways: both connect to your mailbox account, move mail into folders on the server, and can send you a digest of mail they kept out of the inbox. Leave Me Alone's Screener holds mail from new senders outside the inbox until you allow them, while people you already email get through. SaneBox sends mail from senders you don't open or answer to SaneLater, and you correct it by moving a message to the folder it belongs in.
The difference is in how each handles the mail you never want. Leave Me Alone's core feature is a real unsubscribe: it follows the sender's link, or emails the sender on your behalf, and an AI agent fills in unsubscribe forms where a site needs one. It says those subscriptions stay gone even if you stop using the service. Its Spam Blocker catches spam and cold outreach, and Rollups gather senders you keep into a digest on the days you choose.
“And that it actually unsubscribes instead of just dumping blocked emails in a folder forever.”Ethany Uttech, Trustpilot, January 2026
SaneBox's SaneBlackHole moves a sender's future mail out of the inbox, so the sender keeps mailing you and the filtering stops when your subscription does. Beyond subscriptions, SaneBox sorts notifications, pitches, and mail from colleagues by importance, tracks sent mail that got no reply (SaneNoReplies), and offers reminders and snooze folders that return a message to your inbox later.
“I love that dragging to inbox trains the system instantly to do that the next time from that sender.”Liz H., Capterra, October 2021
SaneBox vs Leave Me Alone: price and refunds
Leave Me Alone is cheaper at every level we compared. Its Casual Emailer plan costs $9 a month for 4 accounts with every feature, and Inbox Zero Hero costs $16 a month for unlimited accounts. SaneBox's Snack plan costs $9.49 a month for 1 account and 2 features, Lunch costs $15.99 for 2 accounts, and Dinner costs $42.99 for 4 accounts with everything. Leave Me Alone's yearly prices appear only as a first-visit discount on its pricing page, so we compare monthly list prices.
The ways in differ too. Leave Me Alone gives 10 unsubscribes free with no card, then sells a $19 Seven Day Pass for 2 accounts that doesn't renew, which suits a one-time cleanup. SaneBox has no free plan or one-off pass; its trial runs 7 days with every feature on up to 4 accounts and no card.
“What really sets them apart is that they offer a one-week pass instead of forcing you into a recurring subscription.”Morgan Mead, Trustpilot, May 2025
On refunds, SaneBox gives more time. It offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on eligible purchases if you ask support. Leave Me Alone advertises a 14-day money-back guarantee, and its Terms say only payments less than 60 days old will be considered. SaneBox's own reviewers say the cost adds up once you add accounts.
“The only downside is that once you add several different boxes and multiple mail accounts, it can get pricey”Ian B., G2, January 2026
What SaneBox and Leave Me Alone read in your mailbox
Leave Me Alone's FAQ says it never reads the content of your emails, but its Security page and Privacy Policy describe exceptions: for Rollups it fetches, encrypts, and stores the content of those emails, and the Spam Blocker reads email content to classify it and keeps some of it to train its own classifiers. It says it uses open-weight AI models hosted by DigitalOcean rather than companies like OpenAI or Anthropic, and that it never sells your data.
SaneBox says it decides importance from message headers and your history with each sender, and that it doesn't store your email. Both services need broad permission to read and move mail in your account, so check your employer's policy before connecting a work mailbox. More on SaneBox's record is on is SaneBox legit.
SaneBox and Leave Me Alone reviews, like for like
Both companies show 4.8 on Trustpilot: SaneBox across 758 reviews, Leave Me Alone across 97. How those reviews arrived differs. Trustpilot tags each review as invited (sent through the company's own review link) or unprompted. In our pull on October 1, 2026, 78 of Leave Me Alone's 97 reviews were invited and averaged 4.99, and its 19 unprompted reviews averaged 4.37. Of SaneBox's 50 most recent reviews (June to September 2026), 49 were unprompted and averaged 4.86; the 1 invited review is too few to set against Leave Me Alone's invited group.
One oddity: Trustpilot's banner on Leave Me Alone's page says the company hasn't invited customers recently, while the per-review tags mark most of its reviews, including recent ones, as coming through its own link. We report the tags. On Product Hunt, Leave Me Alone shows 5.0 across 7 reviews and SaneBox 4.8 across 26.
Leave Me Alone's critical reviews say it missed lists or didn't stop them for good.
“I wouldn't spend the money on this owing to the amount of emails this does not fully work on (you'll have to manually unsubscribe) and also a lot of emails that weren't picked up on the system.”RTAN, Trustpilot, April 2023
“As soon as you stopped their service (7 days pass), my inbox became the same as it was before.”Dimiter Avtanski, Trustpilot, May 2024
SaneBox's critical reviews are about training time, early misfiling, cancelling, and support. They are all in the full SaneBox review set.
“The AI seems to need a bit more training than I'd like, requiring me to still continue checking folders to ensure it didn't miss anything.”Leila B., G2, December 2025
